  1. I am 26 will be 27 in June. Over the past year every time I have a blemish it leaves a dark scar that does not fade with time...maybe its leaving a liver spot I am not totally sure if that is what it is called. Also one has seemed to turn into a keloid/mole maybe? This discoloration is something that has just started to happen. Is there anything to do to make the discolored spots go back to their natural pigment and anything to prevent any more discoloration of future breakouts? Also I am fairly clumsy and my scars are now healing discolored as well. Maybe I have a vitamin deficiency or something. Thank you for your time and help in advance.

  2. The first thing you need to know about the skin is that it does AGE! Around age 25 the skin is in its anti-aging period; meaning you have to start preventing aging! Liver spot or age spots can start to pop up on your skin due to lack of proper spf usage, lack of exfoliation and puncture to the skin(bursting bumps)Extracting your own skin is dangerous because you are passing bacteria from your bare fingers to your open skin and you cant directly burst a pimple. It has to be extracted professionally. You need to be on a good anti-aging skincare regimen. Tell me your regimen that you have now and I will suggest some products to get your skin even, hydrated, exfoliated and toned. There are so many products on the market but knowing how and when to use them is the key factor!

  3. I exfoliate 2 to 3 times a week. I do not pop pimples (I am too squemish) I just hope they will go away with time. I don't have an anti-aging skin care regiman, I use a little MAC moisturizer in the winter. I use regular acne wash and acne cream everyday. I don't use make-up mostly because I don't know how, but also partly because every time I do something weird happens to my skin so I gave that up years ago. I am unfamiliar with toner as well. So I am open to suggestions.

  4. Do you know your skin type? Oily, Normal, Combination, Dry. Once I know you skin type I can suggest a regimen for you. If you do not know your skin type answer these questions: Is your face oily or dry in the morning? After cleansing how fast does oil appear? Do you have dry patches? Does your face always feel tight and dry? How often do you get a break out? Where are your blemishes located on your face? You say you exfoliate 2-3 times a week, but what type of exfoliant is it? What is the name of your cleanser? What type of Moisturizer are you using and why only in the winter? If you read my tone up tuesday post, it will give you a better understanding of toners.

  5. Normal I think, cuz im only get oily in my T-zone. I get break outs the week before my cycle. I use a gentle salt and orange scrub. I only use moisturizer in the winter because if I use it in the spring or summer or fall I get break outs, i think its due to the temp. I use a simple benzoyle peroxide cleanser the one with 10%. The blemishes occur wherever they want its no specific region.

  6. Ok, I would like you to try Avalon organics vitamin c products! Vitamin C is great for balancing, brightening, toning and evening your skin. Since your Tzone is only oily the vitamin C will not make it worse. You can find these products at Walmart. I am oily but I use their balancing toner, its keeps my skin tone even and it helps with anti-aging. Stop using blemish control products unless it it necessary because sometimes we can make our skin worse by using products that is not essential for it. Cleanse am and pm, Tone am and pm, Daytime moisturizer with spf, Night time moisturizer w/o spf. Try to exfoliate only 2 times a week and use a mask(balancing mask for combo skin or all skin types) once a week. When you cleanse your skin make sure you are using lukewarm water, if you get a blemish use the control gel only on that spot or use a clay mask as a spot treatment. The key is using gentle but effective products.

  7. What are your thoughts or opinions on using Retin A and hydroquinone twice a week? I have Combination skin, with a few breakouts on a monthly basis and a few blemishes. Also, where can I purchase the Queen Helene Vit C and Honey mask?

Lastly, I live in Nashville and would love to come visit you for a consult.
